In honour of School Library Month, Friday’s winner of the book “The Doomspell” was Hanna MacPherson. Hannah, if you haven’t done so already, please see Mrs. Killeen in the Library as soon as possible for your free book.

Mrs. Killeen sends a special thank you to all students who filled out a ballot last week to show your support for National School Library Month. Congratulations to all free book winners. Today is Provincial School Library Day. In our classes, you’ll be accumulating as many minutes as possible, as our school participates in the 4th Annual Million Minutes Literacy Challenge (the entire province is trying to reach one million minutes read altogether). Let’s try to beat our total from last year (with 36,186 minutes read). By the way, last year we were the top high school in the province!! Let’s do it again!!

Students, be sure to get your guesses in for the “Staff and Their Pets” bulletin board. Contest ends at 12:30 pm today. The winner will receive a $25 gift card to Chapters Indigo Book Store. Total minutes read will be announced on Tuesday morning. Island wide results will be announced Tuesday afternoon! Mrs. Killeen thanks all staff and students for their participation and support in advance (especially when minutes are being collected during last block today).
