Important End-of-Year Information

Grades 10 and 11 Students: (Thursday, June 25)

  • Pick up Report Cards in gymnasium from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. or in the Library from 11:30 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Make sure you have all outstanding monies and textbooks to be returned.

Grade 12 Graduates:

  • Graduation ceremonies will be held at Iceland Arena Tuesday June 23rd at 8:00 PM
  • Students should arrive at the school beginning at 5:45 PM
  • At 6:45 PM students will parade to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church
  • At 7:45 PM students will parade up Main Street to Iceland
  • All Presenters should meet outside the “BIG” door of Iceland. Please check in with Mr. Ronnie Munn
  • Parents and guests of the graduates MUST have their invitation to be seated on the floor.
  • Security will be present and will be responsible for the entrance on to the floor surface.
  • Once the graduates are seated, the public are welcome to have any unoccupied chairs.
  • Following the graduation ceremony, invited guests are welcome to attend a reception in the MRHS cafeteria.
  • All grads are reminded to return their gown and sash to Room M111
  • Make sure you CHECK off your name!
  • A DVD of the graduation and ecumenical service will be available. You must pre pay for the DVD by Friday June 26th. Please see Dawn in the office. The cost is $40.00

 

The office will be open during the summer at the following times:

  • July 22, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
  • July 29, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
  • August 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

  • August 27, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – starting regular hours for the 2009-2010 school year

  • Students should check the Community Service Bursary list posted on the Guidance Office Bulletin Board to make sure your names are included. If students have bursary hours and their names are not on the list, you should see Mr. Armstrong today.
  • Teachers are reminded that the Public Performance Rights (PPR) video recording sheets for the month of June are due to Mr. Lackie today.

SWITCH will have its wrap-up meeting at 11:38. Lunch will be provided.

The Gr. 10 and 11 band will be rehearsing tomorrow morning at 7:45am in preparation for the Gr. 12 Graduation Ceremony. Please speak with Mr. MacInnis if you are unable to attend.

Thanks to Hope Klein, Sara Walsh and Gail Greene for decorating for last night’s Athletic Banquet and to Ms. Garland for her help setting up as well. The Cafeteria looked great! Thanks to all who helped with clean-up after the banquet last evening. Thanks to Kaylea McDonald and Corey Deagle who did a fantastic job emceing and to Mallory King for the slide show! Congratulations to all the winners! Major award winners were Hanna Hameline for the Chelsey MacKenzie Spirit Award and Damon Ansems and Marissa Wisener for the Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

Today’s special in the cafeteria: Grilled cheese, choice of side and a small white milk for $4.00.

  • Any students who have signed up for Peer Helping next year are asked to please see Mrs. Hicken before Wednesday to arrange for an interview. You must have an interview before you leave for the summer.

  • There will be Block meetings today for Peer Helpers. C Block Peer Helpers should attend a meeting in either A, B, or D Block.
  • There will be a Student Council meeting today at 12 noon in Mr. Killeen’s room. All this year’s council and those who have been asked to join next year are urged to attend.

The Athletic Banquet starts this evening at 6:00 p.m. Tickets will be on sale again today at lunch. This evening is a semi-formal event – no jeans! Come celebrate with your fellow athletes as awards will be presented to each team. The major awards of the evening will also be announced as well – Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

Teachers: A final draft of the Exam Supervision Schedule will be printed this morning. If you have any supervision concerns, you should let Ms. MacDonald know by break this morning.

 

Teachers, if you would like to view the roll-over demonstration in the bus parking lot on Tuesday, June 9th, please contact Mr. Jamieson.

Today’s special in the cafeteria is a choice of pasta bake or spaghetti, garlic bread stick and a small white milk for $4.00.

Today’s Events:

  • Student athletes, if you played on a school sports team this year, you should get your ticket at noon for this year’s Athletic Banquet. The banquet is Monday night at 6:00 p.m. Awards will be presented by each team as well as Male and Female Athlete of the Year winners will be announced. Tickets are on sale today at the top of the stairs for $6, beginning at 12 noon.
  • The Women’s Rugby team will have lunch in Mr. Munn’s room to watch the video of your Championship game.
  • All Women’s and Men’s Softball players are asked to bring your uniforms to Mrs. Trainor today. You will not receive final marks until you bring these in.
  • All school athletes who have not paid their athletic fees are reminded to pay these fees to Mrs. Trainor. You will not receive your final marks until you are paid up!
  • Grad Banquet tickets will be on sale today at lunch at the top of the stairs. Tickets will be sold this week only. Cost of the tickets is $12.00 which includes meal, the Historian’s speech and Graddie Awards. Banquet is on June 17th, at 6:00pm.
  • Grad Activity is planned for June 18th. Paint ball money will be accepted today at lunch at the top of the stairs. Money will be collected this week only. Cost of the Paint ball is $25.00. This includes equipment and initial supply of paint, BBQ and transportation. You must travel with the school.
