Information Meeting Postponed

Parents of students in Grade Nine this year who will be entering Grade Ten next year at Montague Regional High School are advised that the meeting scheduled for this evening has been postponed until Wednesday, April 1, 2009 (tomorrow – same time and place).

This information meeting will help students make the correct course selections for Grade Ten next year.

Meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the M.R.H.S. Cafeteria. Grade Nine students and their parents are welcome to attend.

Congratulations to Alyssa Chapman on winning the “Female Athlete of the Year” for Special Olympics!

Parents of students in Grade Nine are reminded of the meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening (Tuesday), starting at 7:00 pm in the Cafeteria. This meeting will help you with scheduling courses for Grade Ten next year.  Storm date for this meeting is Wednesday, April 1, at the same time.

Staff and students of MRHS- congratulations!!!! Some of our avid readers have taken part in Classrooms Care, a special reading program that empowers students to read and make a difference. Because our school read 100 books by the May 31st deadline, Scholastic Book Clubs has donated 100 books to Canadian kids who need them! The donation has been made in honour of our school with the help of Scholastic’s Literacy Partners. Reading does make a difference! Excellent job to all participants! Please check out the bulletin board outside the library for our school’s certificate!

Parent Council Meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, April 6, starting at 7:00 p.m.

Library Contest: Think you know how many books are in the school library? Then venture a guess in this fun contest! Here’s a few things to keep in mind:

  • Include fiction and nonfiction titles in your guess, but not dictionaries or periodicals or encyclopedias.
  • Ballots will be available at the circulation desk in the library and all those interested may submit an official ballot.
  • No ballots will be accepted during classtime. Please visit the library before or after school or during break and lunch.
  • Only those whose library accounts are in good standing wil receive a ballot (any overdue materials should be returned).
  • The person who comes closest to the number of actual books-without going over- will be declared the winner.
  • Please note: Because new books can be added at any time, to be fair, Monday, March 30th total will be taken as winning number.
  • This two week contest is open to all staff and students of MRHS!!
  • The winner will receive a hip “Twilight” totebag and gift certificate to Indigo!
  • Winner will be announced on Friday, April 10th.

Colonel Gray High School will be the host for the first try-out session for the 2009 Canada Games Mens Basketball team. Grades Ten and Eleven Students: Home room teachers will be passing out Course Registration forms for NEXT YEAR in A Block this morning. They will be explaining the procedure for choosing your courses. In B Block this morning, students should go to your B Block classes for attendance and then Grade Ten’s and Eleven’s will be called down to the gym for an assembly where you will get more information on picking courses for next year.

Grade Twelve students will go to the Cafeteria during B Block for an assembly on graduation information.

The Teachers’ Resource Centre will be closed over noon hour on Thursday, March 12, between 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. They will be open again from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. The TRC will be closed all day on Friday, march 13, so staff can attend workshops.
