  • MRHS busses will run on Monday to transport only those students writing exams.  Students who are unsure of their pick up times should contact their driver.

Tuesday, February 3, 2009:

  • There will be no classes for MRHS students on Tuesday.
  • The busses will operate to transport all other students (Consolidated and Intermediate).

Wednesday, February 4, 2009:

  • MRHS classes will resume Wednesday.
  • Students should go to their FIRST semester home room to pick up new schedules and instructions for the day.

Jan. 29 – School Closure

All schools in the ESD are closed for the day.  Exams that were to be held on Thursday, January 29th will be written on Friday, January 30th.   Exams to be held on Friday will be written on Monday, February 2nd.  Classes will resume on Wednesday, February 4th.

  • Europe travellers: Euros are now in at CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce). You should pick them up as soon as possible.

Guidance Office Notices:

  • Grade 12 Students planning to study Agriculture, specifically studies in Organics Agriculture, should note that a scholarship is available. Application forms are in the Guidance Office, an essay is required, and the application received by deadline is February 2, 2009.
  • Mount Allison is organizing a bus tour from PEI to Sackville, NB, for February 2. Information is posted, including the schedule, on the Guidance Office Bulletin Board. If you are interested, send an email to Scott Yorke, of Mt. A., to get your name on the list.
  • Students are reminded of the deadline for Holland College applications on February 28, 2009. Please direct any questions to the Guidance Office.

The Men’s Basketball team defeated Colonel Gray last evening 76-41. Kyle Jenkins had a game high 28 points. Damon Ansems had 15 points and Jay Shaw had 9 points. The men’s next game is Friday evening at home against Three Oaks. The Ladies play at 6:00 and the Men at 8:00 pm.

Family night’s admission is $5 donation for popcorn – doors open at 7:00 pm. Saturday matinees start at 1:00 pm with a tooney donation for all you can eat popcorn. Easter Eagles Notice: Our local minor soccer club will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, Feb 19 – 7:00PM at the Active Communities Board Room, Main Street Montague. A number of board level positions are open this year and we hope to fill them prior to the summer season. Elections and nominations are heard from the floor at our AGM. They are also looking for interested parents who would be willing to assist with the running of our preseason camps. If you have questions please email dakerwin@edu.pe.ca.

Ringette: Any girls interested in playing on the Provincial Belle team must attend a practice on Saturday, January 24, at CARI at 7:45 p.m.

Congratulations to the Montague Greene Ringette team who won the Charlottetown Ringette Tournament this past weekend.

Congratulations to the MRHS Men’s Basketball team who came out on top at the tournament over the weekend! Kyle Jenkins was selected to the All Star Team for the tournament and Damon Ansems was chosen as the MVP. This is a great showing for our Men’s team, so make sure you congratulate them!

  • Grade 11 students interested in government, politics or world affairs, or looking for a unique and different experience, may wish to consider Pearson College. The Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific is part of the United World Colleges and students complete their final year of high school and their first year of University at Pearson, in Victoria, BC. Normally one student is chosen from PEI. Applications can be downloaded, or can be obtained in the Guidance Office. Those interested should commence the application process immediately.
  • Mt. A. is organizing a bus tour from PEI to Sackville, NB for Feb. 2. Information is posted, including the schedule, on the Guidance Office bulletin board. If you are interested, send an email to Scott Yorke, of Mt. A., to get your name on the list.
