Ball Hockey playoff games today: “The Crawfords” take on “Brad MacDonald”. On Thursday, “The Lemons” play “The Weak Wristers” and on Friday, “N.A.S.H.” play “The Bobcats”.

Student Council is hosting a Spring Dance this Friday, April 18th, in the gym. The dance will be from 8:00 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets will be on sale today until Thursday at lunch for $5 each or $4 with a food bank item. For tickets, go to the top of the stairs at lunch break!

A sum of money was found in a classroom yesterday. The owner may claim it by identifying the amount in the main office.

Blood For Life group will meet today at 12 noon in Mr. Trainor’s room. New members are always welcome!

Grade Twelve Students: The choices for this year’s prom theme are:

  4. Carnival

Ballots will be given out in Grade 12 home rooms on Thursday. Think about which theme you will vote for. More descriptions of the themes will follow tomorrow.

Grad Activity Committee members: Today and Thursday are voting days! Voting for president, vice president and secretary treasurer will take place in M110 from 11:40 to 12 noon, both days. On Friday, come to the M110 to check out the grad clothes! You must try before you buy. Bring money on Monday.

S.A.V.E. meeting today at 11:50 a.m.

SADD meeting on Thursday at 12:00 noon in W307 to view a video of the March 10th activity.

Prom Committee will meet on Thursday in the Library at 11:38. Please bring your lunch and ideas!

Those interested in trying out for the Men’s Softball team are asked to meet in the gym on Friday at 11:38. Tryouts will begin Monday after school.

Attention Grads: Moore’s Menswear has generously donated three free rentals of the tuxedo of your choice. Any grad interested, please submit your name and home-room to the office by noon on Friday, April 18. A draw will determine the lucky winners.

Staff: Please check your classrooms for an extra AC adaptor cord for a CD/Cassette player. The Library is missing two, which makes two machines useless. Your time and effort is much appreciated.

Kings County Job and Career Fair is taking place this Thursday (April 17) from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Montague Curling Club. For more information, contact Lori or Sara at 687-2458.

High School Musical: Any cast, crew, or pit band members who did not receive tickets for the musical are asked to please see Mrs. Hicken in W105 right away.

Congratulations and Good Luck to one of our students, Pierce Hart, who is participating in a Canada Games Swimming Training Camp in Montreal this week.

Women’s Rugby Practice today from 3:15 to 4:15. Please see one of the coaches if you are unable to attend.

There will be no soccer for the Eastern Eagles U16 Girls on Saturday, April 4th. It will be from 5:00 to 6:15 in the MRHS gym the following week. Any girls interested in playing U16 in the summer should attend.

The Island Ball Academy is offering training sessions in preparation for the upcoming Softball/Baseball season. The two indoor weekend training schools are scheduled for April 25-27 and May 2-4 and will be held at the Jacques Cartier Arena in Alberton. Ten hours of training will cover great drills and tricks to use in 2008 - all for only $40. There are different age groups available and the first thirty people to sign up will be accepted in each class. You will have to pre-register and payment must be up front. “High School Musical” is underway. Right now we are in rehearsal for about twenty hours per week. The public is invited to night-time performances which will run from May 7 to 10 at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults and $8 for senior/students. We still need student volunteers for stage crew. This is a big commitment, but it is a main need.

Medal Design Competition: If you would like to submit a proposal in respect of the Medal Design Competition for the 2009 Canada Games, check out the poster on the bulletin board outside the office. Submission forms are available online at www.2009canadagames.ca. More information is also available in the main office.
