Happy Birthday to Ryan Morrison!

Any students who wish to purchase tickets for next week’s musical should see one of the cast or crew members, or contact Mrs. Hicken. Tickets are going quickly; so if you want to attend “The High School Musical”, you should get your tickets right away!
Congratulations to the MRHS Choir, Vocal Class, and Women’s Ensemble who received record high marks of 91, 92, and 93 at the Kings County Music Festival yesterday. Great job, everyone! Ms. Beck is very proud of how beautifully they sang!

Grade 11 students should note that Acadia University is again hosting Discovery Quest on June 22 - 28 at Acadia in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Forty students will be selected from the Maritimes and the New England States to attend the week which will include discussions and hands-on experiences in career planning, entrepreneurial thinking, the environment, technology, and other topics of interest that participants bring forward. All expenses are covered, including meals and transportation. If interested, see Mr. Armstrong today or tomorrow.
Congratulations to Montague Regional High badminton players who made the medal podium at the provincial finals this weekend. Emily Doyle took Silver in Juvenile singles and teamed with Taylor Nicholson for a second place finish in doubles as well. Kristopher MacLeod and Jack Panting captured a Silver in Juvenile doubles. In Senior play, Hope Klein and Sara Walsh captured Bronze in doubles play while Cassie MacLean and Terry Nabuurs took Bronze in mixed doubles.
Congratulations to the Grade 11 and 12 Jazz Band for their fine performance on Friday during Jazz Days at Colonel Gray High School! There will be Concert Band and Jazz Combo rehearsals this week after school on Wednesday and Thursday. You are preparing for a concert at the Arts Gala on May 13.

Canada Games Men’s Indoor Volleyball Camp: All athletes born in 1988 or later who are interested in trying out for the 2009 Canada Games Men’s Indoor Volleyball Team are invited to an upcoming Identification Camp being held at Summerside Intermediate School on Saturday, April 26th, ant at Bluefield High School on Sunday, April 27th. There are two sessions each day. Saturday sessions are 12:00 to 2:00 and 4:00 to 6:00. Sunday’s sessions are 11:00 to 1:00 and 3:00 to 5:00. Athletes must pre-register with team manager, Dawna Woodside at 675-4722 or dlwoodside@islandtelecom.com. New players are strongly encouraged to attend this upcoming ID Camp as it is one of the last opportunities to come out and join this promising training squad from which the 2009 Canada Games Team will be chosen.

Biology Course Changes at UPEI: Starting in September of 2009, you will need to have credit for one high school Biology course (either BIO521 or BIO621) in order to register for the first-year Biology courses (Biology 131 and 132) at UPEI. First-year Biology courses are required for a major in Biology, Chemisty, Family Science, Psychology, Radiography, Nutritional Sciences, and the Pre-Veterinary Program. These courses are also recommended for other programs. If this is your plan, make sure that you take BIO521 or BIO621 in your 2008-2009 school year!

Montague High badminton players completely dominated the juvenile and senior badminton tournaments held this week. In senior play yesterday, Montague players won 17 of the top 18 positions in 5 categories. Players advancing to the provincials on April 25 and 26 include: Sara Walsh, Hope Klein, Cassie MacLean, Mamie Bell, Barb Shephard, Charlotte Gallant, Greg Clark. Matt Nabuurs, Terry Nabuurs, Kuri White, Matt Patterson, and Evan Forrister.
The Montague dominance started on Tuesday when our juvenile players took 14 of the top 16 spots at their tournament. Players from this team advancing to provincials include: Emily Doyle, Taylor Nicholson, Molly Gotell, Celeece MacIsaac, Kris MacLeod, Jack Panting, Sam MacLeod, and Devan Gunn.
