Happy Birthday to Emily Munroe!

Welcome to the following guest teachers: Ms. Rachel Colwill, Ms. Paula Johnston, Mr. Joey Weale, and Ms. Denise McGillivray.

The two Deathball teams in the Championship game today are Mr. Nicholson’s and Ms. MacDonald’s home-rooms. The game will take place at lunch time in the gym. Check it out!

Homeroom Teachers that did not pass out the overdue Library material slips yesterday are asked to please do so today.

If there is poor weather tomorrow and you are wondering about rehearsal, the case and crew of The High School Musical should listen to the radio for an announcement.

Students are reminded to return or renew overdue materials to the Library as soon as possible. Should students have any questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Killeen for help. Student cooperation will help avoid any fines.

Badminton: There will be Juvenile Badminton on Monday and Wednesday (March 10 & 12). The Seniors will go on Tuesday, March 11. All three days will be 3:15 to 5:15 p.m.

Today’s Special in the Cafeteria: Homestyle chili and breadstick with a small white milk, for $4.00.

March book orders have arrived and will be placed on Thursday, March 13th. Please see Mrs. Killeen.

Happy Birthday to Hannah Bell and Curtis Walker!

Welcome to the following guest teachers: Ms. Amanda Purchase, Ms. Rachel Colwill, Ms. Paula Johnston, and Mr. Joe Purchase.

Congratulations to Alana Murphy, Becca Walsh and Nick Melnyk who were selected as Provincial Basketball All-Stars. They will be playing in the All Star games being held this evening at Colonel Gray High School in Charlottetown. Women play at 6:00 p.m. and Men at 8:00 p.m.

Homeroom Teachers: This morning you will find (in your mailboxes) an envelope of overdue Library material slips belonging to students in your homeroom. Please distribute the slips during your homeroom class, so they can return or renew the materials before the end of the day.

There will be a SADD Meeting today at 12:00 noon in Room M303. All members must attend. This is a very important meeting.

The Debate Club will meet today at 12:00 noon in Mr. Lea’s room.

A representative from Saint Thomas University will be in the Guidance Office today at approximately 1:00 p.m.

Grade Twelve students should note that there are four additional UPEI Scholarships available with April deadlines. They are posted on the Guidance Office bulletin board and the applications are in the Guidance Office.

Mrs. Killeen is still missing her red stapler (it has Library written on it). Please return this as soon as possible.

This is a reminder to all of Ms. Currie’s Leadership class that your $23.00 must be in by Thursday in order for anyone to get your shirts. You can give your money to Chrissy Crane. Thanks.

Attention all soccer parents and players: You are all invited and urged to attend the annual Eastern Eagles Soccer Association Annual General Meeting. The club needs your input and could use some more volunteers! Go and support your club on Thursday, March 13, at 6:00 p.m. at the Atlantic Fitness East meeting room.

All Women’s Basketball players are asked to return their uniforms to Ms. Garland by Friday.

Early Closure - March 5

Due to weather conditions, the Montague Family of Schools will be dismissing students early on Wednesday, March 5.  Buses will be leaving schools at approximately 10:40 a.m.

Congratulations to Alyssa Chapman who won a Gold Medal in the Solo Dance Figure Skating at the National Special Olympics last week. What an impressive performance, Alyssa!

Anyone interested in summer employment with Parks Canada should note that a representative will be here today, over the noon hour, at the top of the stairs!

The Yearbook Meeting that was scheduled for today after school will be moved to today at 12:00 noon because of the forecasted bad weather.

We would also like to welcome the fifteen Midget Hockey players from Aylmer, Quebec, who are in the school today. They are billeted with the Belfast team.

A representative from the Marine Institute in Saint John’s, Newfoundland, will be in the Guidance Office during B Block today. Anyone interested in careers having to do with ships, or being a mariner, should check this out. Please inform Mr. Armstrong today if you wish to attend.

Happy Birthday to Tiffany Bedell!

Congratulations to the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams for a well-played season. The Women’s team met Colonel Gray in the Bronze Medal game on Saturday. Although they were up by nine points at the half, the girls provided a nail-biter for the fans, losing by one point. Leading scorer for Montague was Alana Murphy with 24 points. The Men’s team met Morell in the Bronze Medal game for a close game. At half time, the Vikings were up by one point, losing to the Marlins for an end score of 65-57. Leading scorers were Nick Melnyck with 16 points and Erik Hameline with 15 points. Best of luck to all graduating basketball players: Bethany Drover, Alana Murphy, Rebecca Walsh, Brandi Weibel, Donald Campbell, Harris Campbell, Nick Melnyck, Evan Nobles, and Luke Richards.

Band Students: Just a reminder to Band students to bring in your permission slips for your trip to Band Days tomorrow. All Band students who are attending Band Days are asked to please go to the Music Room at 8:40 tomorrow morning for a run-through before you leave. The storm date is Thursday, March 6, so please bring your instruments on that day if necessary.

Debate Club will meet this Wednesday after school.
