Band Students: Jazz Band is cancelled today, but will be held next week.

Band Students: Sectionals are as follows this week during lunch:

  • Monday - Trumpets
  • Wednesday - Saxophone and Trombone
  • Friday - Rhythm section (Donald MacNearney, Bennet Buell)

There will be Concert Band on Wednesday after school and Jazz Band will be held this week and next week on Thursday after school.

The first annual “Fitness for a Cause” will be happening this Saturday, January 12th, at Atlantic Fitness East in Montague. There will be fitness classes all day, along with an open swim. Classes are $3 each or $10 for the day. All proceeds are going to support the local chapter of Meals on Wheels. Phone 838-3047 for the fitness class schedule.

We would like to congratulate Sarah Haberl who was selected by the Student Council yesterday to represent the student body on the new School Construction Committee.

Two binders (one pink/one white) and a textbook were misplaced yesterday…anyone finding these items, please turn them into the office today…. the student is starting to panic (test tomorrow). Thanks.

There will be a SADD meeting in Room M303 at 12:00 noon today.

Wrestling:  There will be Wrestling practice today at Montague Consolidated from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Message from M. Morrison: No Canada Games Wrestling practice today (Tuesday).

Grade 12 students should be aware that Holland College has a new program called “Introduction to Video Game Art and Design”. There will be an information session about this new program, tomorrow, Wednesday, January 9th, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Holland College Charlottetown Centre, in Room 19C. Please use the Kent Street entrance.

An electronic device was found outside the building yesterday in the snow. If you are missing one, please check with one of the secretaries in the office.

There will be a Student Council Executive meeting at lunch today, but no general Student Council meeting after school.

There will be a SHARE meeting today at 11:50 in Mr. Jamieson’s room.

We would also like to welcome the T.P.Girls Hockey Team from Whitburn, Newfoundland.  These ladies will be visiting us for the next few days.

The following students are asked to see Mrs. Killeen this morning at break: Daniel Lanois, Mitchel Richard and Vanessa Blackett.

Felicitations goes out to Sarah-Marie Sandford who was chosen to represent PEI as an ambassador for the french for the future/le francais joir l’avenir conference in Toronto in February. Ca c’est chouette!

Knitters will meet today (what?  Mondays…you always meet on Mondays!) in M301 at 11:38. Hope you remembered your knitting!

Don’t forget to sign-up for intramural soccer baseball at the gym bulletin board.  If you have any questions, ask Mike MacDonald, Katelyn Shaw or Kyle McGuirk.

Band Students:  Sectionals at lunch time will start up again on Wednesday.  Saxophone players are asked to come to the music room on Wednedays at 11:50 a.m.  Bring your lunches.  Rehearsal for trombones will be held on Friday at 11:50.  Concert Band rehearsal will be held on Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:30, and Jazz Band rehearsal will be on Thursday.

Library Notice:  The printer in the Library will not be working until further notice.  Could the young lady requesting the book Fly on the Wall: how one girl saw everything please see Mrs. Killeen as soon as possible.  Students are reminded that unless you have a note from a teacher, photocopying costs $.10 a sheet. If you miss notes from a class, be prepared to pay for your copies. Thanks.

January 4, 2008 “Parking”

Just a reminder to staff and students that due to the accumulation of snow in the parking lots, the number of parking spaces available are reduced until the snow melts! Parking as always is on a first arrival basis. I would suggest that until the snow melts, students avoid taking a vehicle to school if at all possible.
