Congratulations to all those students who received certificates yesterday at the assembly. These students were recognized as highest achievers in their last year courses. Receiving medals for highest averages (last year) in Grade 10 were: Sarah McLeod (1st), Kelly O’Connor (2nd), and Justin MacPhee (3rd). Grade 11 medals went to Donald MacNearney and Rebecca McLeod (tied for 1st), Tyler Wheeler (2nd), and Shelley Acorn (3rd).

The following resolution was passed at the regular monthly meeting of the Eastern School District Board of Trustees held last evening: “Be it resolved that the Eastern School District recommend to the Minister of Education that a new high school of approximately 110,000 square feet for the Montague Family of Schools be built with access to Montague’s municipal services.

Congratulations to Megan Kaderly, Terri McGarry and Quiller Sharratt who will be attending the National Debating Seminar in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia. Students, along with Mr. Lea, will be attending this seminar from November 21 to 26, 2007. Wow!
There was a black binder lost in the bottom wing locker area. This binder contains a student’s documents for all four courses. If you have picked up this binder by mistake, please bring it to the office.
There will be an assembly for all students during B Block to recognize the Grade 10 and 11 highest achievers in 2006-2007 courses. Last year’s Grade 12 students were given their certificates during the Grad Banquet in June.
Men’s Volleyball Team: Those on the Men’s Volleyball Team who have not yet passed in their jerseys, please go to the gym at 12:00 today and bring your jerseys.

- December book orders have arrived. The last date to order for delivery before Christmas Break is December 4, 2007.
- Approximately 120 new books have arrived in the Library and Mrs. Killeen and a few of her helpers managed to get them on the shelves for you already! Please visit the Library display or ask - three will surely be something for you!
- A reminder that Mrs. Killeen is available to you in the Library until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays - no Mondays or Fridays.

Reminder to Grads regarding prom dates: If you have a long term relationship with someone who does not, and never did, attend Montague High and/or is out of school for over two years, please see Ms. Anderson before Friday, November 30. To clarify, if your date now attends MRHS or has graduated within the last two years, you do not have to sign up now. Only those whose dates are not from MRHS, or graduated from there three or more years ago, must make sure that Ms. Anderson has your names. Remember, November 30 is the cut off date.

MMR Immunization Clinic: An immunization clinic will be held at MRHS on Tuesday, December 11, 2007. At this time, Public Health will be offering MMR (mumps, red measles, german measles) vaccine to all students in Grades 11 and 12, along with a small number of Grade 10 student who also require the vaccine. All students will be provided with an information fact sheet and a consent form which must be signed and returned to the school prior to the date of the clinic. We will also be offering the vaccine to any teachers or staff who were born after 1970. Students are reminded that many post-secondary institutions now require proof of having received two doses of MMR vaccine upon admission. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Sherri Ferguson, Public Health Nurse, at 838-0762.

The Montague Figure Skating Club is seeking volunteers to play music at Iceland Arena for figure skating practices. Times that need to be covered are Tuesdays 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Fridays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Also, there is a gentlemen in Montague looking for someone to rake leaves, and in the winter, to shovel snow. If any students are interested in either of these jobs, they should see Mr. John Armstrong in the Guidance Office as soon as possible.
